Christine and Ruth Weir, Staten Island, New York, 1922
Title
Christine and Ruth Weir, Staten Island, New York, 1922
Description
Written on back: "13 months. Flag Day, 1922. With sister Ruth." Note: Ruth and Christine shared their father, Sidney Weir. Ruth's mother was Sidney's first wife, Elizabeth Landmesser, who died in 1908 due to some form of tuberculosis. Landmesser's mother was Caroline Hilgert, born 1861. However, Christine's mother, Christina Werner, was born to Catherine Hilgert, born 1858. It appears that Caroline and Catherine Hilgert were either siblings or cousins, both from Wilkes-Barre, PA. After Sidney's first wife died, he appears to have married one of her cousins, making Christine and Ruth more closely related than half-siblings. Names: Dahlquist, Ruth Ida (née Weir) 1906-1985; Robb, Christine Jane (née Weir), 1921-2014.
