Biographical Text
Christina was born to Katherine ("Kate") Hilgert and Charles Werner in Wilkes-Barr, PA in 1888. Hilgert died (in childbirth, with twins) in 1893(exact date unconfirmed). Christina's father, Charles Werner, later remarried Sarah Jane Poole (born in England). Christina had another full sibling, Charles Werner, four years younger than her. The 1910 Census shows them living in Shortsville, NY where Charles Sr. worked as a boilermaker in the railroad shop. He later became a baker. Christina was working as a dressmaker at the time, and Charles Jr. as a wheelmaker (carriage wheels). Also in the home were children, David (12 yrs.), Florence (10 yrs.), Victoria (7 yrs.), Russell (5 yrs.), and George (2 yrs.). These were all Sarah Poole's children (and presumably Charles Sr. was the father, although this is unconfirmed), making them Christina's half siblings.
Christina married Sidney Weir in 1911 and gave birth to their daughter, Christine Jane Weir in 1921. The couple lived in Port Richmond, Staten Island, New York.
Christina died in 1959.
