Transcript, main article: "Henry Robb, 73, of West Brighton, died Wednesday at home of cancer. Born in Port Richmond, he settled in West Brighton in 1940. Mr. Robb, who was graduated from Port Richmond High School in 1932, attended Newberry College in Newberry, S.C. and Manhattan College. A federal employee for three decades, he worked as a collection agent for the Internal Revenue Service in Manhattan for 24 years before transferring to the Small Business Administration, where he was a loan officer for the remainder of his career. Mr. Robb retired in 1971. He was a third generation member of Ascension Episcopal Church, West Brighton, and held membership in the Altarian Club, of which he was a past president, and the Hillside Swim Club of New Springville. An ardent sports fan, Mr. Robb also was a member of the Staten Island Baseball Oldtimers Association in Travis and served as treasurer for that organization. Mr. Robb served in the Marine Corps during World War II and fought in the South Pacific for 34 months. he was attached to Marine Air Wing I, participating in the invasion of Guam and the Bismarck Archipelago. He was discharged a staff sergeant. Surviving are his wife, Christine Weir Robb; two sons, James H. and Harry C.; a daughter, Ellen Montanaro; a sister, Grace Nolan, and eight grandchildren. The funeral will be from the Casey Funeral Home in Castleton Corners, with a service tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. in Ascension Church. Burial will be in Moravian Cemetery, New Dorp."
