Description
Letter written by Christina Weir to Betsy Dahlquist, February 26, 1954. Written on stationery from The King's Hotel Jacaranda "On The Orange Blossom Trail", Avon Park, FL. Names: Mannherz, Elisabeth Ann "Betsy" (née Dahlquist), 1932-2022; Weir, Christina Caroline (née Werner), 1888-1959. Transcript: "Dear Betsy, I enjoyed hearing from you very much. I suppose you are very busy these days with plans for your wedding. You were lucky you found the stone from your ring. Where are you going to live? With Paul's people or an apartment? We are having some lovely weather here. I sat outdoors for a couple hours today. Went to Sebring today for a ride. 15 of us had a grand picnic last week at the home of some friends who live on an orange grove at Wauchula[?]. We play samba most every night and go to the movies some evenings. By the way I sent you the slippers and would suggest you get a credit slip until I come home. Have you been doing much sewing? Have you got used to your new machine yet? I guess you were happy to get a raise. Now I guess you can use it. Give my love to Paul and enjoy yourselves. I will be coming home the middle of April. The time will go fast now. I see by the papers you are having some nice days now. I also read that George Warmhold[?] has a son. Well Betsy I guess that will be all today. My love to all of you. As ever with love, Mom." Names: Weir, Christina Caroline (née Werner), 1888-1959; Mannherz, Elisabeth Ann "Betsy" (née Dahlquist), 1932-2022
